We were part of the first "haunted tour group" organized by Cable TV's ghostly programme The Unbelievable, in which cast and crew investigate notorious haunted spots in Hong Kong.

The tour group had split up into smaller groups so that we would not be too conspicuous. We were making our separate ways to the "headquarters" at one of the villas. At HQ, we were met by the crew and actor Simon Loui Yu-yeung, the host of the show who was official "tour leader" that night.

Guests for the night included Lung, The Unbelievable regular Henry Chen Yun hai, fung shui master Au Chung-tak, Cable TV artiste Olivia Wong, and Jeffrey.

Our mission for the night -- to check out two flats with reported encounters -- would not start until business ended for the hawkers and grocery stall across the street.

Fung shui master Au Chung-tak said the bay had been the site of a burial ground for torture victims during the Japanese occupation.

It was 11pm when things sprang into action, with joss near the wall and a mirror. But when master Au Chung-tak approached with his fung shui board, the crackling died down. It returned when he left the room. Eerily enough, Chinese cymbals were heard as a family performed funeral rites on the beach below us.
